First post...

I would just like to throw out there, that I am no blogger, chef, or expert at... ANYTHING! Seriously. Ive actually only read a handful of blogs and may be completely confused as to how they work! I am a stay at home mom, of four kids we are homeschooling, with a strong interest in plants and food. I am the type to research things to try to understand them. I may tend to give too much information... or even recall information incorrectly. But who doesn't?!

When I was a young adult, I was pretty sure I hated most "different" foods, but then I realized I just hadn't had them in the right ways! Pesto for instance... I thought I hated it based on a jar of pesto from the (non refrigerated) pasta aisle. Obviously, when I had it the correct way, many years later, I was shocked by how much I loved it. I was equally shocked by how much I loved goat cheese in the right situations! This started my path to trying foods the way they were meant to be, fresh, which often includes making it for yourself. Unless you live in a major city where you can always find good fresh food restaurants, which a lot of people don't.

A few of my favorite things... lavender and basil from our garden last year.

Back to the point, Ive never done this before. Im really kind of antisocial and have been known to get social anxiety on occasion. It actually causes me to talk ALOT, because I hate to have silence in a conversation... I say a lot of things sometimes. BUT, I do love food, I am picky, and I do have a collection of trusted recipes. My only hope is that I can adequately relay them to you, in a way that you can follow. My plan is also to post updates about our farm, animals, and products on this blog. We decided to do this as a response to multiple messages requesting recipes or info about us! So if you're interested, or just amused by my awkward social tendencies, you can follow along.
